The city of Kyoto is one of the world's most popular travel destinations. Steeped in history and culture, it tends to attract visitors who are exceptionally intelligent and creative. But many of these "genius-class" visitors leave without interacting very much with the people of Kyoto. This problem is further compounded by the shyness of Kyoto residents themselves. We placed a table in a totally new location. We hosted a luncheon at which genius-class visitors and Kyotoites meet together and share their knowledge. As a souvenir of the event, we produced a series of tongue-in-cheek Kyoto rule books. called "Meanwhile in Kyoto." By opening the books, a fresh new level of communication can be achieved with Kyotoites.
