Swedish Radio 90 Years: Defining Moments 1925-2015 – There is one moment in every artist’s life that changes everything; the very first time they hear themselves on the radio. Ahead of its 90th anniversary, Swedish Radio wanted to show its prominent position throughout Swedish music history. So we invited some of Sweden’s most celebrated musicians to participate in a film that would recreate that special moment in their life. The film opens in St. Jacob's Church in Stockholm 1925. This was the time and the place for Sweden's very first radio broadcast, launched with a piece performed by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. We are then taken on a journey through time, from 1925 until today, and we see a number of famous artists relive their special moments. In the crescendo, we are in Swedish Radio's own Berwald Hall where Sweden's most famous rock band Kent's national anthem "Music Non Stop" is performed by upcoming star Elias. The artists in the film are Howlin' Pelle from The Hives, Timbuktu, Zara Larsson and folk singer Cornelis Vreeswijk. The band Tussilago also makes a cameo in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm. The music is specially arranged by Peter Nordahl and, Joakim Berg of Kent. Solution: Sveriges Radio wanted a musically themed film that could both be used to kick off their grand 90th anniversary show, which was held in Berwaldhallen, Stockholm, and secondly to be used in online media as branded content – for PR purposes and for their employees to share. The main soundtrack is an orchestral rearrangement of one of the most famous pop/rock songs in Sweden, "Musik non-stop" from 1999. The band Kent also has a very large, devoted fan-base within Sweden which raised extra interest – besides the well known Swedish artists reliving hearing themselves on the radio.
